Reliable gulfHR migrates long term client to latest version in one month  

gulfHR has been providing Dodsal, one of our premier clients, with a reliable, stable HR & payroll processing system since 2005. We recently migrated them to latest version software.

Dodsale is a large EPC contractor headquarted in Dubai. They are a key player in building cross-country pipelines, refineries, chemical plants, power plants, and are focused on the energy sector. With current projects across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Algeria, Dodsal’s need for the latest technology and business processes in their current reliable HRMS system necessitated the need for the migration.

Dodsal has been using gulfHR for about 15 years and managed a peak of around 20,000 employees across 7 companies. They used an older version for about 4 years without any ugrades. An independent consultant then reviewed the software offerings in the market and advised Dodsal that gulfHR was most suited for their business needs due to Dodsal’s strategic plans and long history with gulfHR.

Happy with the results

A Dodsal spokespearson commented, “This time, the migration took less than a month, compared to previous upgrade, done a few years ago, that took almost 4 months. We started using additional features such as Performance Management and Self-Service, which we didn’t use before. I consider the integration of the HR features and the speed of the migration our biggest success factors. We are now able to operate very efficiently in payroll processing.”

The IT team lead from Dodsal stated, “Our biggest challenge was the migration of the data. There was a lot of unused data that had to be cleaned, and it proved to be time consuming. We did that by partially moving data of one or two companies into the new software and we managed to keep both the versions alive. gulfHR has been very supportive, both onsite and online, and worked closely with our technical person. If there was an issue, they helped us. As I remember, it has been fantastic.”

The ‘value add’ to Dodsal has been the advanced payroll; the performance management; and the new work flow system. This has helped them to reduce the amount of paper that was previously printed for approvals, and the end users enjoy the user friendly screens and simplicity in operating the system.
